About the Investment Strategy

  • Large capitalisation companies in the portfolio are complemented by small- and mid-cap issues.
  • Portfolio holdings will include "classic" value stocks as well as "growth" issues that have fallen from favour and are available at levels that the manager believes are consistent with value investing.
  • While the manager selects investments primarily for their capital appreciation potential, consideration is also given to a company's dividend record and the potential for an improved dividend return.
  • The manager considers both the business fundamentals of prospective companies as well as the outlook for their particular industry and overall trends.
